Identify the source
Evidence before treatment
Note where activity appears and when it started. A clear photograph or safely contained sample helps; very small specimens may need specialist identification. Skin irritation or bites alone do not identify a pest.
Investigate the source
Some mite problems involve birds or nesting material; others relate to stored products and damp conditions. The inspection looks for a source that fits the identified pest.
Do not disturb active nests or enter unsafe roof areas. Nest-related work needs assessment of access, wildlife protection and timing. See bird control and proofing.
If no pest is found
Spraying is not an automatic next step. Further identification may be needed. A pest inspection does not diagnose medical conditions; persistent skin symptoms should be discussed with a pharmacist or GP.

What happens during a visit?
I review the reported activity, specimens and likely source areas. Where a treatable pest is identified, the plan may include targeted treatment, cleaning, source management and moisture advice. Products are used according to their approved labels.
Preparation and aftercare
Record sightings and mention any products already used. Avoid moving suspect belongings between rooms. Tell me about children, pets, aquariums and access concerns.
Follow the cleaning, ventilation and re-entry instructions for your job. Continuing activity may mean a source remains or further investigation is needed. Follow-up is based on the findings and progress.
